TUESDAY IS MAINTENCE DAY!
The World of Warcraft Servers go down for maintence EVERY Tuesday from 3am to 11am Pacific Standard Time (6am - 2pm Eastern Standard Time) and Wednesday Morning for the European Servers! This means you CANNOT LOG IN! No WoW for you! So its not your game, your computer or your connection its just maintence!
The World of Warcraft WEBPAGE maintence is periodically done on thursday mornings so the official forums, talent calculators and armory may not always work on thursdays.
GameAmp, Macs and Safari
If you are having trouble with the GameAmp Site and are using a Mac do NOT use Safari. GameAmp and Safari do not get along and it will lag. Try a different browser.
Bandwidth

Ok so the background downloader is inherently slow, it is supposed to be that way because it is supposed to let you play or do other things while downloading. It sucks because it can be annoying if your watching it but its better than sitting for 5 hours on patch tuesday. For more information see the basics or click the title.

Software vs Hardware Issues
The most common WoW related issue is Video Card problems!The most common video card issue is out of date drivers and lack of RAM. You need at LEAST 512mb of RAM but 1 gig is really the bare minimum for decent performance of WoW on your machine. Also make sure your video card drivers are up to date!
